What to Do If You Find Injured or Orphaned Wildlife
- Safely contain the animal.
If it is safe to do so, wearing gloves, gently place the animal in a secure, well-ventilated box. - Keep the animal warm.
Place the box in a warm area to help reduce stress and prevent the animal from getting chilled. - Keep the animal dark and quiet.
Put the box in a dark, quiet part of your home, away from people, pets, TVs, and noise. - Do not give food or water.
Please do not offer any food or liquids, as this can do more harm than good. - Contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator right away.
